Angelica “Angie” Bertot Santibañez leads community engagement for Amazon Public Policy team in the south Florida region working closely with local community stakeholders, business organizations, and civic associations to support policy objectives. She works to collaborate and form robust relationships with internal business partners such as Amazon in the Community, Public Relations, Economic Development, Operations Community Engagement, and Global Real Estate & Facilities and also with external partners, community and civic leaders, local opinion leaders, local government officials, and other hyper-local stakeholders to establish and foster relationships and partnerships in support of Amazon’s presence in the South Florida region. She was in the Social Impact/Nonprofit space for 10+ years and then worked 4 years in the financial services industry working in Corporate Social Responsibility arena, particularly with CRA and Community Development initiatives She is driven by a desire to inspire and help those in need in the local Miami community. Angelica is very active in the community, serving on a number of committees of civic, non-profit, and charitable organizations, including the United Way Miami Women United Executive Council where she serves as Vice Chair, the Chapman Partnership NextGen Executive Committee, Live Like Bella Childhood Cancer Foundation Board Member, and sits on the Governmental Affairs Committee of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce. Angie is a product of the 305 - born and raised in Miami, FL. She graduated from Miami Dade College with her Associate of Arts, then received her Bachelor’s Degree from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and her MBA from Florida International University. Dr. Germaine Smith-Baugh is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Broward County. Founded in 1975, the Urban League of Broward County is an affiliate of the National Urban League, a historic civil rights organization dedicated to economic empowerment in order to elevate the standard of living in historically underserved urban communities.

Serving as President and CEO since 2006, Dr. Smith-Baugh is credited with several achievements within the community including one of the most significant accomplishments in the agency’s history; the launching of a $9 million dollar Community Empowerment Center. The center expanded the programs and services offered by the Urban League and further advanced its mission of assisting African Americans to achieve social and economic equality. Dr. Baugh is active on many boards and provides insight in a myriad of issues across the state and nation.

Kersti G. Myles, Esq. is the Director of Policy and Government Relations at the Urban League of Broward County. Prior to joining the Urban League, Ms. Myles was Chief of Staff to Minority Pro Tempore State Senator Bobby Powell, Jr. representing portions of Palm Beach County and a legislative aide in the Florida House of Representatives representing portions of Miami-Dade County. Kersti also served as Housing Advocate in the Homeless Legal Prevention Project with the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County handling evictions, landlord tenant disputes, and fair housing complaints. 

Barred in Florida and the District of Columbia, Ms. Myles is a proud alumna of the University of Central Florida with a B.A. in Political Science, Florida Atlantic University with a Master in Nonprofit Management and a Juris Doctor from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law. Yolanda Cash Jackson, double Gator from the Law Class of 1990 is among the power elite when it comes to lawyer-lobbyists in our State Capitol. Her untraditional path to becoming a lawyer who influences state policy at the highest levels is a model for new lawyers seeking meaning in their law practice. Ms. Jackson knows political leaders by their first name and changes people’s lives through institutional and programmatic initiatives. Ms. Jackson tapped into Florida Blue Key while in law school.

Ms. Jackson’s untraditional path took her through many areas of law, including family law and litigation, before she found her passion in lobbying and policy. The Children of Inmates inducted her into the League of Superheroes, the only non-elected, non-government official to be inducted for the third time.

Last but certainly not least, Ms. Jackson has risen to the highest ranks in her own law firm, serving as one of only seven shareholders who form the Becker Management Committee, charged with overseeing all aspects of firm policy, operations and strategic growth. Becker is a multi-practice commercial law firm with attorneys, lobbyists and other professionals in offices throughout Florida and the East Coast.

Tameka Bradley Hobbs is the Library Regional Manager of Broward Public Library’s African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale. She earned her undergraduate degree from Florida A&M University, and her doctoral degree in United States History and Historical Administration and Public History from Florida State University.

In addition to her sixteen years of teaching experience, Hobbs has served as coordinator of the African American Studies Program at Valdosta State University. She has also worked as a researcher, writer, consultant, and director for a number of public and oral history projects. Her professional experience includes serving as Director of Projects and Program for the John G. Riley Museum and Center of African American History and Culture, located in Tallahassee, Florida, as well as Education and Programs Coordinator for the Library of Virginia. 

Between 2011 and 2018, she was Assistant Professor of History, Chair of the Department of Social Sciences, and University Historian for Florida Memorial University in Miami Gardens, Florida. Between 2019 and 2022, she served as Associate Provost for Academic Affairs and the Founding Director of the FMU Social Justice Institute at Florida Memorial University.

Her book, Democracy Abroad, Lynching at Home: Racial Violence in Florida, was published by the University Press of Florida and has been awarded bronze medal for the 2015 Florida Book Award for Florida Nonfiction, and the 2016 Harry T. and Harriette V. Moore Award from the Florida Historical Society. 

Hobbs served as founding president of the South Florida Branch of the Association for the Study of African American Life and History, Inc. (ASALH, Inc.). She also serves as the chair of the board of directors for the South Florida People of Color (SFPoC), a non-profit organization based in Miami Shores, Florida, dedicated to eradicating racism through education and advocacy.

LaKendria Robinson is the Founder + CEO of The Orenda Collective. This social impact strategy firm works with corporations to create groundbreaking diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in the  communities they live, work, and play. The Orenda Collective’s mission is to shift the focus from antiquated ideals to more deliberate and progressive actions. By challenging their clients to view their  community through a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive lens, The Orenda Collective delivers  innovative solutions that live on in perpetuity. Although launched in March 2021, The Orenda Collective  is creating dynamic social impact programs for The Tampa Bay Sports Commission, Visit Tampa Bay, the  Tampa Bay Partnership, and Beck Group, among others. 

For over a decade, LaKendria has worked and volunteered for organizations that support underserved  communities and help its residents build sustainable lives. Before starting The Orenda Collective,  LaKendria served as Business Connect & Community Outreach Director for the Tampa Bay Super Bowl LV  Super Bowl Host Committee. In her role, she was responsible for identifying and connecting Tampa Bay's diverse businesses to contracting opportunities related to Super Bowl LV and co-managing the various  social legacy initiatives of the Host Committee’s Forever 55 social impact programs. 

LaKendria also served as the first Minority Business Accelerator & Economic Inclusion Director for the  Tampa Bay Chamber. She spearheaded the Minority Business Accelerator to help minority-owned  businesses grow and thrive in Tampa Bay.  

She was named the 2020 Forty under Forty recipient for the Business Observer. LaKendria was also  named a 2019 Forty Under 40 recipient by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives for her  meaningful involvement in the advancement of the Tampa Bay community.  

Ms. Robinson earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Communications from Florida State  University (Go Noles!) and a master’s degree in Organizational Management & Leadership from Ashford  University. Sidney C. Calloway, Esquire is a partner at Shutts & Bowen LLP and Co-Chair of the Government Law Practice Group. Sidney is the Immediate Past Chair of the Urban League of Broward County and currently serves on the Charter County and Regional Transportation System Surtax Appointing Authority of Broward County, Florida, the Board of Directors for the Port Everglades Association and the Truist Bank Advisory Board. He is a former Vice-Chair of the Florida Transportation Commission and member of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit for Broward County, Florida.

Melissa K. Burrows, Ph.D.  joins Cleveland Clinic as the Director of Talent Acquisition, Workforce Diversity. Prior to joining Cleveland Clinic, she played a key role in Cleveland city Mayor, Frank Jackson’s Administration from 2014 – 2021 where she served as the Director of the Office of Equal Opportunity.  As Director, she is responsible for monitoring and enforcing Codified Ordinances as a way of promoting equity and inclusion efforts.

Prior to joining the Jackson Administration, Dr. Burrows served as the Faculty Diversity Officer at Case Western Reserve University, where she was responsible for providing oversight of university compliance with equal opportunity and affirmative action laws and regulations; as well as assisting with diversity and inclusion efforts.  Additionally, Dr. Burrows worked at KeyBank as the Diversity Measurements Manager, where she was responsible for leading efforts in translating the value proposition of diversity and inclusion efforts on the corporation and building the business case for diversity.  

Dr. Burrows received her Ph.D. in Public Administration and Urban Affairs from the Levine College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University; a master’s degree in Urban Planning and Policy from the University of Illinois at Chicago; and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from The Ohio State University.  

As the Director of Talent Acquisition, Workforce Diversity she will advance hiring efforts from the City of Cleveland, building and connecting caregivers from entry level to meaningful career pathways. She will partner across the enterprise with key leaders and the community health team to ensure we have robust pipelines of diverse talent to join our Cleveland Clinic family.  

Originally from Dayton, Ohio, Dr. Burrows resided in the Fairfax neighborhood for over 25 years and served as the board chair of Fairfax Renaissance Development Corporation.  She is married to Grady Burrows and they have two sons.  

James joined CCM from Franklin Templeton where he was a vice president for the investment platform division responsible for business development with research platforms across multiple distribution channels. In this role, he generated significant mutual fund platform wins and new sub-advisory mandates with major financial institutions. Prior to this, he was a senior product manager at Putnam Investments responsible for product management of various alternative investments including the THL Partners private equity funds. He began his career as a Certified Public Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is on the Board of Directors and Finance Committee (Chair) of Sawgrass Adventist School, a private elementary school in South Florida. James also serves on the Board of Directors of the Urban League of Broward County, Florida. James received his B.S. in Finance and Accounting from Northeastern University. He is a CFA Charterholder and a member of the CFA Institute and the CFA Society of South Florida. He holds FINRA licenses: Series 7 & 63.

Senior Vice President, Public Affairs, Marketing and Engagement

Heather Urquides is the Senior Vice President of Public Affairs, Marketing and Engagement for Sunshine Health. In this role, she oversees community partnerships, internal and external relations, member engagement, marketing and 11 community Welcome Rooms for the company’s Medicaid, Health Insurance Marketplace (Ambetter), Long Term Care and Medicare Advantage (Wellcare) products.

Urquides has more than 25 years of experience in marketing, communications and journalism. Prior to joining Sunshine Health in 2017, she worked at WellCare Health Plans. Prior to that she was the City Editor at the Tampa Bay Times , Florida’s largest newspaper.

Urquides holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arizona and serves on the board of directors for March of Dimes Broward County, which raises awareness and funds to improve birth outcomes and achieve health and racial equity for all moms and babies.

Donna Maria Ingram Marshall is the Senior Director of Human Resources & Training at the Urban League of Broward County where she oversees recruitment and hiring,coaching, leadership, and staff development. She earned an Associate’s of Arts Degree and a Bachelor’s of Science in Supervision and Management 

She serves on the Board of Directors of the Human Resource Association of Broward County and is the Chair of the NEAB HR Affinity Group. Donna is also involved in other organizations where she volunteers in leadership capacities. She is often requested to  mentor young females professionally.  

Donna is also an Entrepreneur of two businesses. She’s also a licensed and ordained Minister  and has served in that capacity as sharing the Gospel, teaching, conference presenter, workshops, or conversation over a cup of coffee.

Vanessa Nazario was born in Puerto Rico and raised in Trenton, NJ. She has worked in Community Development, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion for over 28 years. Her career began at MECHA, a Hispanic-based nonprofit organization providing homeownership training and counseling to low-to-moderate-income families. In 1996, she joined PNC Bank’s Community Development Department, where she championed equity and inclusion in several roles throughout her 20-year career, concluding her tenure as VP of CDB Operations. In early 2017, she transitioned into a new Diversity Director role with RWJ University Hospital, part of RWJ Barnabas Health System. She was responsible for diversity and inclusion and healthcare equity initiatives. She managed several vital programs that helped transform the culture into an inclusive environment for staff and patients. Vanessa also launched the Hospital’s first Diversity & Inclusion Council and oversaw seven Business Resource Groups.  She was also a key leader in developing and launching the PROUD Gender Medical Center Program: a comprehensive medical program serving the needs of the LGBTQ+ community. In early 2021, she joined Memorial Healthcare System in Hollywood, FL, as Director of DEI to create and lead the System’s inaugural diversity, health equity, and inclusion strategy and manage Language Interpretation Services. Vanessa, through her leadership, helped secure the System’s first Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s Healthcare Equality Index; signed two national pledges: CEO Action in Diversity and Inclusion and American Hospital Association’s #123 for Equity Pledge. In June 2022, she was promoted to Corporate Director and Chief Diversity Officer to further MHS’s commitment to DEI.  

Vanessa is proud to serve on several committees, including Florida Diversity Council’s Advisory Council; Human Resources Association of Broward County’s (HRABC) DEI Committee; Serving as a Student Mentor for Rider University’s Women in Leadership Council; HISPA’s South Florida Advisory Council; and ARC of Broward’s Business Advisory Council. Crystal Morris is a Jamaican-born social justice professional,

contributing to low employee morale, disengagement, and attrition. She lays a firm   foundation for cultural humility and models trauma-informed practices to establish  healthy and productive workplace ecosystems. 

Alongside her private consulting, Crystal has professional affiliations with other   capacity building firms. She is the Managing Director of Climate and Culture for Carter   Global, where she supports clients in enacting inclusive and equitable board cultures   and strategic direction. She also serves as a Lead Facilitator for Athena International,   a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a global pipeline of women leaders from   the classroom to the boardroom.
